Democrats Soft on Torture: Senators Dianne Feinstein of California and Charles Schumer of New York

What do you stand for if you don't oppose the use of torture? How could a person POSSIBLY consider themselves to be a leader in a democracy and compromise on that issue?

Waterboarding was created during the Spanish Inquisition. What does that tell you?

If someone was suggesting we waterboard pets, little cats and dogs, then this country would be ready to kill them. On the spot. No one would be quibbling about it being torture. Because you know it is torture.

And yes, there is a clear line that torture is wrong. That ticking bomb scenario is nonexistent, and even if it does happen, why do you think that someone would tell you the "truth" versus "anything you want to hear"?

The Democrats are folding on the torture issue. This will not be forgotten.

Democrats have been exceedingly soft on the extermination of babies for years now. What's a little torture with that kind of track record?!

My, my, the Frank Family must be a cheerful bunch.

Abortion is not only supported by Democrats. Republicans support it, too.

You weren't commenting on Republicans so I didn't include them. My point is the degradation of human life. If you refuse to uphold and protect the most innocent lives then why would you care about people believed to be evil? By the way, we are quite cheerful!!!

Frank family - then when a woman has a miscarriage, should she be put on trial for involuntary manslaughter? Or is it just a lump of cells?

And what about emergency contraception? Or the use of any contraception? And then there is the issue of a non viable fetus. Say you already have a kid, then you get pregnant. The doctor tells you that the fetus is non viable, and that your life is in danger unless an abortion is done. Do you say "no thanks! Ill just risk death and depriving my child that is already here of having a mother" or get it out of there?

The abortion issue is far more complicated than the anti side makes it out to be.

Oh yea and before it was legal, the wealthy who had underage daughters that got pregnant would never have abortions right? For they were illegal! No, they would just go on a "family vacation" to Sweden or somewhere else in Europe, quietly take care of a few things, then come home. Pregnant daughter? OH NO! That was just a rumor! See, look at her! No signs of pregnancy there! She is as pure as freshly fallen snow!

I do not really like the idea of abortion being used as a primary form of birth control. I do not think that it is however. It is expensive, and intrusive. There are risks to the woman. Other forms of birth control are far cheaper and less risky.

As for torture, sometimes I feel like water boarding Skipper the cat. He gets into EVERYTHING. Like my food. If I leave any food for more than 30 seconds unguarded, Skipper gets into it.

But I lack the equipment for a proper water boarding, so I just got a squirt bottle. It holds 32 ounces of water. Skipper is quickly learning what actions cause him to get squirted.

Abortion is not at all complicated. Some circumstances are extremely difficult in many situations. Why should pregnancy be any different? Abortion is a willing choice to an end a life that has no way of fending for himself/herself. You say:

"Say you already have a kid, then you get pregnant. The doctor tells you that the fetus is non viable, and that your life is in danger unless an abortion is done. Do you say "no thanks! Ill just risk death and depriving my child that is already here of having a mother" or get it out of there?"

Many men and women who have children make choices that endanger themselves and the future of their children having a mother and/or father. Many choose to defend their country at a time of war. Many choose to rush into burning buildings as firemen. Many choose to defend their cities as police. None of these things ultimately make a difference in supporting abortion. Abortion is simple -- either you choose to honor life even if you can't see the person or you choose to not honor life. Those who have made the choice to not honor life should cause no surprise by choosing to allow torture to people they believe to be evil.
